Mini-Vacation - February 2008 Disney's Pirates and Princesses Party (that's P3 if you're nasty) is a relatively new event. In addition to capitalizing on the wildly popular pirate and princess characters, it's also an effort to get people to the park during the slower (also referred to as "value") season. It's a special ticket event that's held in the Magic Kingdom. It starts as the park closes for the evening. It features a specially themed parade and firework show, two things the Mouse does really well.
Disney also does great topiaries.
Even though the event starts at 7:00, you can get into the park as early as 4:00 with a P3 ticket. It's a great chance to take advantage of the things that won't be open that night like . . .
The Hall of Presidents! I made an amazing discovery while waiting for the next show:
The model for W. Bush's animatronic was done BEFORE his nose job. Funny, huh?
I loves it! Next up, we hit the Jungle Cruise. It was a lot of fun in the dark.
Like Jaws, I think this is 500% times better in the dark. Our ride op was perfect with the awful jokes.
Next up: the Haunted Mansion. We haven't been since the refurb. It looked good.
Steve and I were the only ones in the pre-show. The ride hostess scared the crap out of us. She was circling the room during the show and - when the lights came back on she was standing right next to Steve. I suppose we should have been expecting it. It was a great laugh. Afterwards, we hit my personal favorite, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
Look how busy the station is!
Steve and I have different skin tones, yet we can wear the same shade of lipstick.
Who DOESN'T want the redhead?
Space Mountain looks so pretty under green lights. Time for the parade!
This baby spent the entire parade looking at my boobs. I was afraid that if I got too close it'd try to latch on. Mom kept turning its head to see the parade, but it always ended up back at my boobs.
The parade had dancers . . .
. . . and princesses to spare. Click here to
