TPS Report

Christmas in the Magic Kingdom
Orlando, FL
December 2008

While it's not necessarily "Holiday-themed," we did find a spot for the 10pm
Spectromagic parade,

The horns signal the beginning of the parade.

For those of you waiting for the Jammin' Jingle Bell Parade, I'm afraid you're in the wrong park.

Mickey starts the parade, rubbing one of those electo-thingies
you see in every fifties B-movie.

Nothing against Genie, but I always wish I could have seen the
version of Spectromagic that had Roger Rabbit in it.

In Mother Russia, giant violin plays you.

The peacock is a little creepy, if you ask me.
It looks like there's a bunch of eyeballs in its plumage.

"Hi, Fred.  You and the Little Mermaid can go f**k yourselves!  I told you so stay near the phone.
I can’t find those books…you must have other books here…it must be in La Hoya. Call me back, I’m not going to stay up all night for you. Buhbyee."

Yep, that last caption was WAY too obscure for King Triton.  Did you get it?

Fantasia floats are up next...

(not pictured: families around us giving me a dirty look because I loudly cursed
the fact that Chernabog didn't open when he was in picture range)

Pinnochio and Gepetto...

Of course, the most impressive visual effect in Spectromagic is when floats
change from plain lighting to colored lights.

That's it for Spectromagic.  Thanks for watching.

Oh, wait.  You can't watch a picture, can you?

Once Spectromagic was over, we did the only sensible thing and got
the hell out of that park.  It was just WAY too crowded.  On the way out,
we did snap this shot of the backside of Cinderella Castle.  Not quite
as impressive on the backside, is it?

Next up - Animal Kingdom!
