TPS Report

Christmas in the Magic Kingdom
Orlando, FL
December 2008

We've spent a lot of time at Magic Kingdom this year, so we decided it
wouldn't be the end of the world if we just went for an evening visit.

The park was open until Midnight on Saturday - it was the only night that didn't
have a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party event (and having been
disappointed in the Not So Scary Halloween Party, we opted out of that one).

Unsurprisingly, the Magic Kingdom Christmas tree was gorgeous.

Very traditional, and very large.

Closer pic for detail.

All of Main Street USA looked great.
Well, except for the massive throng of people.

Even the streetposts were festively adorned.

Of course, they put all these great ornaments out but good
luck finding them in any of the shops (even the Christmas
Shop at the Downtown Disney Marketplace).

Of course, the real treasure is Cinderella Castle.

Gorgeous.  Just flippin' gorgeous.

Just seeing this sucker in person made the whole trip worth it.

Someone's going for "artsy" again.

Yeah, another pic.  I can't help that it's so damned photogenic.

Hi James!

But like I said before, it was obscenely busy.  We didn't even bother
trying to secure a spot in front of the castle for Wishes.  We ended up
wandering through Tomorrowland and Fantasyland while it was going.

Here's a random pic of some pyro over the Mad Tea Party.  The sheer
lameness of this photo should illustrate to everyone how completely
bogus it is when they claim that anywhere in the park is a great viewing
area for the fireworks.  Watch it from Main Street USA or skip it.
