TPS Report

Geauga Lake

Moving into the next area of the park, we find the Big Dipper roller coaster.  Built in 1926,
this thing is a classic.  Much to my amazement, it rode pretty well too.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a lot of great shots of it.  The bulk of the track was really
most photogenic from the old water park area (which looked hella nasty, btw.  They moved
all the good stuff over to the Sea World side of the park).

Karen really thought this was a funny bench.  Her brother's name is Randy.
I'm not sure about the "rapid" part, however.  Not for me to know.

Nothing improves a park's atmosphere quite like the bouncing of a basketball.
No, that's not right.  Basketballs suck.  Death to the basketball games!

Pretty standard shoot the chutes.

So Geauga Lake scores the off-the-shelf Vekoma hat trick.
A flying dutchman, a boomerang, and here's the SLC...

An SLC, for those of you who are taking notes, is
a suspended looping coaster.  There's a few problems, however,
with the nomenclature...

As you can see above and below, this is an inverted coaster, not a suspended coaster.

And the picture below is about as close to a loop as you get...

So where the hell do they get off calling this a suspended looping coaster?

SLCs have a reputation for being headbangers.
Thunderhawk, I'm happy to report, maintains that reputation.

Meh.

Just in time for a cross-country move, they gave Texas Twister a nice paint job.

Inverters are pretty standard issue in traveling carnivals, but Time Warp is a
duel inverter.  Unfortunately, it wasn't popular enough to get shots of
both sides in motion at the same time.

Not a terribly exciting looking rapids ride.  They've gotta be
pretty intricate to get me on.
