Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2008
Cities in Wonderland

Annual October Florida trip time!

Our dates were a little screwy this time around.  We shot a wedding
on Saturday, so we got on the road bright and early Sunday morning.

Anyone who knows me should know that this is a VERY unusual picture.
I'm a bit of a control freak, and I usually demand to drive at all times.

Karen wanted to drive some, so I let her take the helm once we got onto I-95.
I didn't intend to fall asleep, but it seemed like the thing to do.

I managed to sleep through a ton of nasty weather, and woke up just
in time to see the glorious Florida weather.

As soon as we got into town, our first destination was Epcot for
the International Food and Wine Festival.

The Food and Wine Festival is a great annual event here.  Running seven weeks from the end of
September until the beginning of November, this place is a foodie's dream.

The theme this year (the thirteenth year of the festival, btw) is Cities in Wonderland.
The sign was probably a giveaway, huh?

Lol.

First things first.  The line for Spaceship Earth was moving pretty quickly, so we queued up.

One thing that definitely intrigued me was checking out the Festival Center

I considered stopping for the Universe of Energy, but I had a nap on the way down.

The Festival Center was housed in the old Wonders of Life pavillion.
We hadn't set foot in there since 2002...

I guess this is the place...

Everything in the center is as it used to be, though their
purposes have been reallocated for Food and Wine stuff.

Conveniently, they've placed a nice map for us.

The roof of the place is a geodesic dome, kinda like Spaceship Earth.

Lots of shopping stuff here.
