TPS Report

Christmas in Epcot
Orlando, FL
December 2008

We opted for the counterclockwise route through World Showcase,
which led us firstly to our neighbor to the North.

Each of the World Showcase countries had a special set-up where Cast Members
would tell you the history or stories of what they do there for Christmas.

This set up is for Nowell, a Canadian lumberjack.  He talked
about mischievous Nalyuks and the elusive Canadian Santa Claus.

Look, I'm not making this shit up, okay?

The Rose & Crown gets into the festive spirit.

Entrance archway to one of the UK shoppes.

Wreath.

Flowers (okay, some of this TPS Report may sound phoned in.  We did ELEVEN
freaking videos, okay?!?)

Father Christmas would be here to meet with you, but he's currently busy
arming strange children in the snow.

Poinsettias within the mazelike hedges.

Next up is France.

France's holiday ambassador is Pere Noel.

He shared one of his favorite Christmas letters from a little girl who
wrote of her le reveillon traditions.  I don't know what the hell that means.

Finally, something I know about.  We opted not to get one of the
delicious Grey Goose slushes in France, so instead we stopped off
at a similar stand in Morocco.  We ordered a Morroccita.

...which Karen promptly spilled all over herself.  I can't say I blame her, though.
The little plastic glass was filled to the rim and was probably 90 percent alcohol.

Japan opted out of the Christmastime festivities, focusing
instead on the customs of the New Year.

This guy told the story of the Daruma doll.  Go ahead and google it if you must.

Shout out to Kady.

Her appetite for alcohol whetted by the Moroccan slush, Karen insisted
on stopping at the sake bar.  Our sake steward steered us towards two
different types that both managed to taste like cough syrup.

What can I say?  I'm one of those heathens who actually likes warm sake.
My tastes aren't exactly refined.
