TPS Report

Christmas in Epcot
Orlando, FL
December 2008

Well, here we are at Epcot again.  It's barely been two months since we barreled through the place
enjoying the Food and Wine Festival.  You'd think it'd get a bit old.  The amazing thing about Epcot,
however, is its incredible ability to recreate itself as the season calls for it.

Looks pretty normal so far.

Okay, we're in.  What have they done here at Epcot to celebrate Christmas?

An entirely different entrance topiary, with the requisite Christmas theming...

On the flip side of the planter, we have Mickey and Minnie.

Fine, the shades are nothing new.  But they're still visually interesting.
I honestly can't decide if they're cool looking or a total eyesore.

The park was pretty busy, so we decided to take a moment at the one
place we knew NO ONE would be.

That's right.  The Figment ride. If the wait is ever over five minutes, the park is officially full.
(incidentally, other candidates for non-crowds include the Mexican boat ride and Mission: Space)

Uh-oh.  There's someone else in the queue.  I didn't think the park was THAT busy.

Look, Journey Into Imagination is just an awful ride.  I don't know how
long this thing can survive on nostalgia for the original version mixed with
"thank god it's better than the last version."

I love the ride, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's awful.

This is the structure on the bridge into World Showcase.  It looks
kinda awkward now, but it'll be MUCH cooler later.

And here we have the official Epcot Christmas tree.  I want
one of those globe ornaments!

Some additional detail of the ornamentation on the tree (and don't let
the picture fool you as far as scale.  That bell towards the bottom is
probably bigger than your head).
