Hard Rock Park Backstage Tour

A huge visual in the Rock and Roll Heaven area is the stained glass windows.  Um, either I missed a memo or someone may want
to go check on Little Richard...

The Malibu Beach Party is going to be some sort of show that incorporates jet-skis, motorcycles, stunts, and music.
Judging by some of the credits (Mickey P. Geek?), I assume this is going to be the tale
of a 98 pound weakling's attempts to be cool with the hip crowd.

The next themed room was for Cool Country.  It sounds like maybe they're going for the whole
Southern Rock subgenre, not just country and western.  Either way, I can't explain why there's
roaches crawling over the logo (but I can explain that it's a very cool, interactive effect.
If you step on one of the roaches, it appears smooshed.  Very clever - we actually missed
it the first time we walked through)

Of course, there's memorabilia throughout the preview center.

But the largest part of the display is for Midnight Runner.

Midnight Runner is going to be a mine-train style that goes through an abandoned lumber mill.
No pictures of it, but hey - here's what a t-shirt MIGHT look like...

Moving along (not a fan of country music, not even the Southern Fried variety), the next room
is for the "Lost in the 70's" section of the park.

Ahem.
Ms. Pac Man was released in 1981, so it really isn't age appropriate for this theme.
However, it's way better than the original Pac Man, so we'll let it slide.

Besides, they do have a bitchin' Pong set.

Yeah, I play with myself a lot.

And they're both infinitely better than the Elton John pinball game.

Along the wall is a display for the park's dark ride, based somehow on the Moody
Blues' song Nights in White Satin.  No clue what the inside of this Sally-designed
ride will be, but I hope it's not quite as pretentious as the song...

Really, Really want.

As you leave the 70's room, you go into a blacklight room where a giant day-glo cock
invites you to make your way to the next room.
But to get to the next room, you have to go through the Vortex...

This would be a great place to have a picture of the Vortex, but my camera just said no.
Essentially the Vortex was one of those fun house tunnels where the walls are spinning around you.
I have to say it's one of the most effective ones I've ever seen.  Halfway through the tunnel, I
honestly had to stop and remind my brain that we weren't spinning.

If that sort of thing messes with you, the friendly cock is pointing out an alternate route. What a nice cock.
